Manatsu (They/them) is a trans, bicultural, multi-disciplinary artist who grew up and has been performing in Japan and the US.

They believe that it is our bodies that humanity should be able to seek shelter in. As an artist and a contemporary of this ongoing multiple genocides and brutality on humanity, they believe and spends their creative practices, platforms and their trans-taped chest physical canvas for illustrating humanness,

to co-create the tools to dismantle the toxic isms,

to reveal our hidden alliances to the colonial systems,

to question the “that’s the world we live in today”

to be the resistance against any colonial capitalist attempts

to demonstrate that dismantling is possible, that a better world is imaginable, and that liberation is co-created by us.

At the core of their heart, Manatsu is committed to using their creativity and artistry to join the frontline of trans and gender non-conforming artists in the dance and theater world.

Art is for the people, and we are the heartbeats of our liberation.
